Captain: refers to the horizontal distance from the foremost end of the yacht to the rearmost structure. This length includes all the structures and components of the boat, such as the bow or stern column, the connection between the bulwark and the hull/deck.

Ship width: refers to the maximum width of a rigid watertight hull (including plate thickness for fiber-reinforced plastic boats), excluding appendages outside and below the designed waterline.

Draft: indicates the depth of the hull below the surface of the water. The vertical depth of the front and rear of the hull is called the front draught and the rear draught respectively, and the vertical depth in the middle is called the average draught.

Moulded depth: refers to the vertical distance from the upper edge of the flat keel to the upper edge of the beam of the deck (deck boat) or the top of the side plate (open boat) along the side at the midpoint of the length of the waterline.

Design waterline width: refers to the maximum width measured along the design waterline when the yacht is floating on the water.

Freeboard deck: usually refers to the uppermost open-air all-through deck. All openings in the upper open-air part are equipped with fixed weathertight closing devices, and all openings on the side of the ship are equipped with fixed watertight closing devices.

Displacement: The mass of water discharged from the inflow part of the hull, measured in tons. When a ship floats on the surface of the water when it is empty, the mass of water discharged by the hull at this time is called the "no-load displacement". After loading cargo, passengers, fuel, fresh water, and supplies, when the maximum waterline is reached, it is called "full load displacement".

Deadweight: The maximum weight allowed by the ship, including the total weight of cargo, personnel, fuel, fresh water, supplies, etc.

Endurance: The yacht carries rated fuel, no replenishment in the middle, and the maximum range that can be achieved by continuous sailing at a certain speed, expressed in nautical miles.
